Covid-19 Safety Guidelines

Please remember these guidelines are subject to change or may be revised at any time. These in-studio protocols and guidelines are non-negotiable.  We are taking every precaution necessary when it comes to the health and safety of our students, staff, and families, so your cooperation is imperative. This is a  fluid situation and we will notify you of any changes in our policies.

  • In order to limit the number of people in the studio, only students and teachers are allowed in the building with the exception of one parent/guardian (mask mandatory regardless of vaccination status) of students under 7 in our Discovery Level Classes.  We ask the escorts of 3 and 4 year olds to stay in the waiting areas.  All others, we do strongly encourage you to drop your students and return after class.    No guests or siblings will be permitted. You may walk your dancer to the designated class door and a teacher/staff member will help get them where they need to be. Your child's teacher will bring them back to the door at the end of class.   We do not anticipate this continuing all season, and we are making decisions based on current data

  • Students will enter and exit at assigned doors.  Park and walk your student to the appropriate door.  Please follow this protocol as it will help us keep the students separate and allow for social distancing. All Gymnastics Students will enter through the main door 1 for the September Session 1, and you will pick them up after class behind the building.  The will help with the flow of traffic between classes.

  • Anyone entering the building will have their temperature taken before being permitted into class.

  • Everyone entering the building will have to immediately wash their hands or sanitize.

  • We will allot for time in between each class for staff to sanitize each roombefore the next group comes in.

  • All of our staff will be educated in what is required from the CDC to hold classes. They will all be following the guidelines that are put in place.

  • Class sizes will be limited to allow for appropriate social distancing.

  • Currently, masks must be worn in the studio at all times.  For ages 12 and up, masks may only be removed in class during intense activity with permission from both teacher and parent.

  • Drinking fountain will be closed. Please bring your own water bottle filled.

  • Please tell students no food allowed.

  • Each classroom will have boxes on the floor for dancers to stand in.

  • Hand sanitizer will be made available in every room in the studio and at every entry.

  • If you have any signs of illness please stay home or if someone in your family is ill please stay home and log in for class online.

  • We will use health screening questions and contact tracing if necessary through the MCDF APP.

  • The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people. Motor City Dance Factory (MCDF) has put in place protective measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, MCDF cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19.

By accepting this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and on behalf of myself, my child(ren), my and spouse/co-parent of child(ren) voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I, and any member of my family, may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending activities at MCDF and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I voluntarily agree to assume, on behalf of myself, my child(ren), and my spouse/co-parent of child(ren) all risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren),myself and any member of my family, (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I, my child(ren) and/or members of my family may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)’s attendance in activities or participation in MCDF programming.  On my behalf, and on behalf of my children and/or members of my family, I will advance no claim and I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, defend, indemnify and hold harmless MCDF, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of MCDF, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any MCDF activity.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the potential risk of exposure to all parties, you will need to answer the following pre-class screening questions on your MCDF APP when you check your student in at the studio each day. Your participation is important to help us take precautionary measures to protect you, your Child(ren) and everyone involved.

  1. What is your child’s current temperature? We will also do temperature checks upon arrival.

  2. Has your child experienced any of the symptoms below in the last 14 days? (fever, chills, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing, or loss of taste or smell)

  3. Has the student tested positive for COVID-19 or come in contact with someone with a confirmed case of the virus within the last 30 days?

If my Child(ren) develop(s) any of the above symptoms I will keep them home, notify MCDF in writing to and seek medical care to obtain a physician’s note stating it is safe to return to participation.
